The masthead ‘TELOS’ covers the top of the magazine cover and creates a sophisticated pedestal for the magazine, initially, which represents the institution as high-class and astute. The additional information, including the barcode, website address, ‘autumn edition’ and the location the magazine was created (‘Westminster, London’) further creates a professional persona for the magazine. I’ve decided to position the cover lines “secrets of stylish women” and “style and power…” next to Rosie’s mid-section as they are two of the primary assets of the magazine’s content and deserve to be featured in the middle of the front cover so as to take precedence over the other sell lines, cover lines and incentives- drawing the readers’ attention to them instantly. The “pre-Christmas workouts” has also been positioned on the other side of Rosie’s body near her mid-section to allude to the fact that contemporary exercises tend to centre around toning mid-sections and removing stomach fat; making it overt to the reader. The incentive/interrogative “those dungarees cost how much?” have also been intentionally placed over the dungarees Rosie’s actually wearing to accentuate that the content inside the magazine is related to the attire and material featured on the front cover of the magazine. The vocative to Rosie- “are you ready for Rosannah Henesy” has been situated on the bottom right of the front cover to encapsulate the cover lines, sell lines and incentives with the image of Rosie and communicate that Rosie’s the main focus of the magazine as she’s the cover star.
